3 Health Care Professions to get Certified in less than 6 months

The health care industry is booming with employment and according to times.com the health care industry grew substantially in February and March. There were over 480,000 jobs added since last year. The category is on pace to be the largest in the U.S economy for the next three years according to Politico's Dan Diamond. In February alone, there were over 10,600 jobs added in hospitals and 7,500 jobs added in physicians' offices.




It is no secret that as the Baby Boomer generation gets older, the demand for health care will increase and the employment for it as well. There are three health care professions that will rise within the next ten years and require only six months or less to get certified in.

Certified Home Health Aides: Certified Home Health Aides are personal caregivers to those in need of assistance in their day to day activities. The certification for Certified Home Health Aides vary from state to state, but its typically an average of 76 hours. In New Jersey, a Certified Health Aide license can be attained anywhere from 3 weeks to three months. Caregivers can earn a median salary of $25,000 and was rated #75 on the top 100 Health Care professions to look into.

Phlebotomy: Phlebotomists are responsible for drawing blood from patients. They typically work in hospitals, laboratories, primary physician offices, and clinics. The benefit of this career is that they can work in more locations, and there aren't any specific license requirements in New Jersey other than a high school diploma and proof of completion from an accredited school or certification by a recognized national agency. A certification can be completed anywhere from 1 month to 6 months. Phlebotomists can earn a median salary of $35,000.



Certified Nursing Assistant: Certified Nursing Assistants maintain the quality of life and basic needs of their patients. They usually work in medical setups and report a patient's medical condition to a supervising nurse on a regular basis. On average, students must complete a 90 hour at an approved agency or an accredited school. A Certified Nursing Assistants can earn a median salary of $30,000.
