EKG Technician is a worthy Medical Career


"What is the number one killer in the United States?"  This is a question countless can answer without a second thought, yet the career associated with the prevention of Heart Disease has almost no recognition.  The sole reason for this has to due with the misconception that it is a career that involves months or maybe years to get certified in.  However, it is not that the case.  In fact, EKG Technicians can get their certification within 1 to 3 months, and it is a license that can be transferred nationally by taking the National Health Association examination.

You may be thinking why anybody might choose EKG as a medical field to get certified in.  The answer is simple.  It's needed, and its benefits are sweet considering the minimal investment put into the license itself.  The specialist typically works in hospitals.  Additionally, their license can be an excellent supplement to other specializations such as Phlebotomy or Certified Nursing Assistant.

As for why it has risen in the past decade, the EKG Technician field is on demand due to the rampant increase of heart disease in the United States.  The necessity for specialists in the field has never been higher.  With a growing population, poor nutritional choices, a more sedentary lifestyle, and an aged baby boomer generation, the increase for EKG specialists has sky rocketed.  It is a great medical career to get into if you are in search of something quick, inexpensive, high employable, and pays well.
