CNA VS. LPN – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

While trying to get into the nursing field, you might have come across several confusing terms that sounded similar but are actually very different. One of the biggest differences is between a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) and an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). While the two sound similar, an LPN has many more duties to their patients and as a result the training and certification for an LPN take much longer.

3 Special Things Grandchildren Can Learn From Their Grandparents

3 Special Things Grandchildren Can Learn From Their Grandparents

It’s a special relationship between a grandchild and a grandparent. Grandparents are the authority figure. They provide unconditional love to their grandchildren. Along with the unconditional love, their experience and time on this Earth helps future generations move forward with the confidence that they’ll be okay during daily struggles. Nevertheless, our grandparents have a unique part in the lives of our future generations.

A New Skill Set

As grandchildren are growing up, senior citizens have a skill set that they can learn from. These skills include gardening, sewing, farming, and woodworking. Unfortunately, these are the lost arts in today’s generation. These are great things to pass to grandchildren especially because they are not commonly taught today.

Furthermore, grandparents learn more throughout their lifetime that prove helpful. They have been on the planet longer and have learned through experience how to handle certain tasks. For instance, someone who grew up in the Great Depression, learned never to waste anything and save money. These are important values that carry over to today.

Emotional Support

Grandparents are incredible listeners. Throughout my younger years, I was fortunate enough to have grandparents that understood patience and compassion. The most invaluable part was their experience on how to handle situations. They serve as an impartial source that can help pick the right choice in critical life moments.
History

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it. History continues to be part of education because it brings value to the future. While kids may learn history in their school books or from old pictures, they may find it interesting to learn from someone who lived it. Children learn more from those who experienced real-live events and learn to comprehend it in an emotional level versus a practical one.

Is It Time for Vocational Schools to Make a Return?

Is It Time for Vocational Schools to Make a Return?

Is it time for vocational schools to make a return? The student loan debt crisis is the worst it has been. Despite the problems, students continue to search for higher education as a source to improve their careers. The problem is solving the student loan crisis among young adults. Currently, there are 44 million borrowers of $1.6 trillion dollars in debt. It is the second-largest debt after mortgage debt.

Education can’t be disputed. It is valuable. However, the problem is not education. It is the fields that student pursues that make it difficult. Nevertheless, students and many colleges have demonstrated the committed of enrollment. Immediately, students notice how difficult it is to find a job after graduation. This is because most students were sold on the idea that success equals working in an office setting.

Coincidentally, the best success stories are from vocational schools. Furthermore, there is a crisis in the trading world for skilled workers. Medical and technical trades are the most in-demand employment sectors currently. In addition, Sanchez suggests that the job market shouldn’t be who you know or where you are from, but the ability to demonstrate skills.

Vocational schools demonstrate the importance of improving your skillset. There are a number of good programs that students can choose from.

  • I.T Specialist
  • Networking Specialist
  • Certified Nurse Aide
  • Certified Home Health Aide
  • EKG Technician
  • Phlebotomy Technician
  • Plumbing
  • Auto Mechanic
  • Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

Over the past year, Wall Street Journal has supported technology schools as the new economy reformers. Unfortunately, there is a negative connotation associated with trade schools. It is too far from the truth.

The truth is vocational schools are the bright light in the student loan crisis. Vocational schools are the economy’s future.
