3 Special Things Grandchildren Can Learn From Their Grandparents

3 Special Things Grandchildren Can Learn From Their Grandparents

It’s a special relationship between a grandchild and a grandparent. Grandparents are the authority figure. They provide unconditional love to their grandchildren. Along with the unconditional love, their experience and time on this Earth helps future generations move forward with the confidence that they’ll be okay during daily struggles. Nevertheless, our grandparents have a unique part in the lives of our future generations.

A New Skill Set

As grandchildren are growing up, senior citizens have a skill set that they can learn from. These skills include gardening, sewing, farming, and woodworking. Unfortunately, these are the lost arts in today’s generation. These are great things to pass to grandchildren especially because they are not commonly taught today.

Furthermore, grandparents learn more throughout their lifetime that prove helpful. They have been on the planet longer and have learned through experience how to handle certain tasks. For instance, someone who grew up in the Great Depression, learned never to waste anything and save money. These are important values that carry over to today.

Emotional Support

Grandparents are incredible listeners. Throughout my younger years, I was fortunate enough to have grandparents that understood patience and compassion. The most invaluable part was their experience on how to handle situations. They serve as an impartial source that can help pick the right choice in critical life moments.
History

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it. History continues to be part of education because it brings value to the future. While kids may learn history in their school books or from old pictures, they may find it interesting to learn from someone who lived it. Children learn more from those who experienced real-live events and learn to comprehend it in an emotional level versus a practical one.

Are Vocational Schools Worth It? The Answer is…

Are Vocational Schools Worth It? The Answer is…

I know you were probably expecting a simple answer. It is such a frustrating situation. You are on the verge a graduating or better yet on the fence on what your next step should be. There are millions of decisions you can make. You can take time off, go straight into work, earn a four-year degree, or pursue a career by taking training at a vocational school. I know what you may be thinking, and it is exactly why I made this post. Is it work going to vocational school?

The answer yes!

Three reasons that will change your mind to yes:
  1. Vocational schools are less expensive and provide in-demand training for careers that are hot on the market today.
  2. You will spend significantly less. As a matter of fact, Generation Z is more likely, than any other generation, to pursue vocational training.
  3. Your career focused. You will not waste time learning electives that are useless towards your degree.
