It can be a bit confusing when it comes to knowing the difference between Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA’s) and Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A’s). Here are some key contrasts between the two:

CHHA:

• Work Environment: Traveling to patient homes and sites

• Salary: $ 21,920 – $29,950

• Licensing: New Jersey Board of Nursing.


C.N.A:


• Work Environment: Nursing homes, Hospitals, and other medical facilities.

• Salary: $33,000 and $40,000 in other areas in Newark or Trenton

• Licensing: New Jersey Department of Health.


Now that you know some comparisons, training for these two classes can be accomplished by going to a vocational training school. Depending on which vocational school you choose, schooling for Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) can take only 4-8 weeks to complete, whereas Home Health Aide training can take as little as 3 – 6 weeks to be certified. The costs for programs vary, but generally, C.N.A training would be more expensive than Home Health Aide training.
